Trenching for Utilities Explained in Dearborn
Running a new water service, a sewer line, an electrical feed, or a drain to an outbuilding all start the same way: a trench. It looks like a simple slot in the ground, but a good trench is planned around depth, soil, and everything already buried nearby. In Dearborn, the local ground and hard winters shape every one of those decisions.
What Trenching Actually Involves
A utility trench is a narrow, controlled excavation cut to a specific depth and slope so a line can be installed, bedded, and covered back correctly. The steps are consistent even when the line is not:

A trench that’s too shallow to save a little digging is a callback waiting for the first cold snap.
How Dearborn Soil Changes the Dig
